May through November
Storrs Farmers Market has offered locally-grown foods in this college town for 22 years, making it one of the longest-running markets in the state. Their focus is FOOD, and friendly farmers are happy to share tips on seasonal produce, recipe ideas, and growing methods! Here, you’ll find the highest quality fruits and veggies, meats, dairy, baked goods, and specialty foods.
A stone’s throw away is the University of Connecticut begun with a gift of 170 acres of farmland and a few barns to establish an agricultural school for boys. Visit UConn’s more than 200 cows, 40 sheep, and 85 horses at the animal barns. Stop by the Kellogg Dairy Center for milking time, and enjoy a cone of UConn’s own ice cream at the Dairy Bar.
The Storrs area is a place of quirky general stores, rural farm stands, bike paths, swimming, and a hike to long-range cliff top views… Storrs Farmers Market is located in Storrs Center, Mansfield's new downtown featuring a variety of shops and restaurants all within walking distance of the Market!
